Map

By train: Take either the New Jersey Transit Midtown-Direct-Dover train from Penn Station to Maplewood, or the New Jersey Transit from Hoboken (PATH train from New York to Hoboken) to Maplewood. Walk North along Maplewood Avenue to Parker Avenue. Turn right (East) and walk under tracks, past Columbia High School and Shell Station to Parker and Prospect.

From 78 Westbound (from New York City) : Exit at 50B. Right on Vauxhall, then right on Springfield. Go north on Springfield about 0.7 miles to Prospect Street.   Banks on left. Turn left on Prospect Street. Road curves to the right. Pass one blinker and one light. Second light is Parker Avenue. Ethical Culture building at 516 Prospect Street is on corner.

From 78 Eastbound (from western New Jersey and Pennsylvania) : Exit at 49B. Ramp twists around, takes you to Springfield. Go Approximately ½ mile to jug handle turn for Valley St. (First traffic light). Take Valley Street approximately 2 miles to Parker Avenue, (Shell Station on corner.) Turn Right at Shell Sta, to top of hill, (next traffic light). Ethical Society is the brown Victorian building on the North East corner of the intersection.

From 24 Eastbound (from Morristown) : Exit at Route 78, New York/Newark bound. Take the local lanes. Take Exit 49B. Ramp twists around, takes you to Springfield. Go Approximately ½ mile to jug handle turn for Valley St. (First traffic light). Take Valley Street approximately 2 miles to Parker Avenue, (Shell Station on corner.) Turn Right at Shell Sta, to top of hill, (next traffic light). Ethical Society is the brown Victorian building on the North East corner of the intersection

From Garden State Driving South: Pull to extreme right 1 mile before Union Toll Plaza. Take Exit 142 ( "Route 78 Newark Airport; Springfield"). After paying the toll, you only can enter Route 78 West . See "From 78 West."

From Garden State Driving North: Pull to extreme right at Union toll plaza, enter Route 78 East. Go to next exit where you can turn around to Route 78 West

From Newark or Irvington:Take Springfield Ave to Maplewood. Turn RIGHT at Prospect Street to #516, or take South Orange Avenue to South Orange Center. Scotland Rd on right and Valley St on left. Take Valley St to Shell station (Parker Avenue), then turn left to top of hill.

By car: From 287 (North or South): Take EXIT 37 East on hwy #24. Stay in Local Lane when highway divides . Exit at 49B, (Maplewood). Approx. ½ mile to jug handle turn for Valley St. (First traffic light). Take Valley Street approximately 2 miles to Parker Avenue, (Shell Station on corner.) Turn Right at Shell Sta, to top of hill, (next traffic light). Ethical Society is the brown Victorian building on the North East corner of the intersection.
